Bathtime for toddlers can be a joy or a struggle – and sometimes both in one night!
If you’ve been looking for some new ways to solve your bathtime woes here are my top three foolproof tips for making bathtime a breeze!
1. Rotate the Toys
Toddler bath toys seem to multiply when you aren’t looking at them. To keep them new and exciting try rotating through what you have available.
If you store your toys outside of the tub you can let your little one pick 3 to 5 before getting in instead of adding all the toys to the tub.
Getting to pick the tub toys for the night can become a fun part of the bath routine!
Or if you store your toys in the tub try putting 3 or 4 in the water before adding your toddler to the mix to encourage them to try a few they may not have seen in a while.
Whichever way you try it – it’ll save you having to pick up every single bath toy after your next bath which is a reason in itself to give it a shot!
2. Add Colors
There are so many cool products out there nowadays that I wish had been around when I was a kid and color-changing bath tablets are definitely at the top of that list!
We’ve tried a few different brands but the Crayola ones are our current favorite. These little tablets come in a mix of red, blue, and yellow and have a nice little fizz when dropped into water.
You can add them directly to the tub or drop the tablets individually into plastic containers on the side of the tub for color mixing magic. We like adding a plastic eye dropper into the equation for some science skills and fine motor control practice too.
3. Add Bubbles
The classic! Who doesn’t like to indulge in bubbles every once and a while in the tub? Bubbles can be a great way to help convince a toddler that bath time is actually the best part of the day.
It’s not a good idea to do bubbles every day because it can cause skin irritation after a while. So if you’ve got a bubble maniac on your hands make sure that they’re getting a good rinse off before they get out.
Bubbles are extra fun with boats and sea monsters, or why not get super extra with it and do bubbles AND color tablets!
Sometimes you just have to pull out all the stops.
